Mikkelson Builders Activity in the Community
The Mequon-Thiensville Gateway Monument
Our owner, John Mikkelson offered his architectural talent as a key contributor on the design committee for the Mequon-Thiensville Community Gateway project. John and his wife Dr. Wendy Mikkelson also donated generously to fund the project, at the Benefactor level:
Barrel Mania 2024 Food Drive Participant
Mikkelson Builders was proud to participate in the Barrel Challenge 2024 Food Drive, an event run by the Ozaukee Food Alliance and Mequon-Thiensville Chamber of Commerce. The Ozaukee Food Alliance along with ServePro dropped off several yellow barrels throughout our buildings, and for the next three weeks, we worked to fill the barrels with non perishable food (and cash donations!) to help Ozaukee County residents who struggle with food insecurity. Our office tenants stepped up in a BIG way and donated to help fill those barrels as well. Thanks to everyone who donated.
Wisconsin Bike Federation
Mikkelson Builders is a proud partner, working with the Wisconsin Bike Fed to make bicycling convenient, safe, accessible and fun in our community!
Mikkelson Builders sponsored the 2022 Ride Across Wisconsin (RAW) bike race, a 236 mile ride from LaCrosse to Milwaukee. We set up the Mikkelson “Pickle Stand” at the last rest stop in Waukesha, and provided the riders with electrolyte-rich pickles and pickle brine, to help stave off muscle cramps. See slide show below:
Homestead High School Tennis Pavilion
Our owner John Mikkelson spearheaded the project to provide Homestead High School with a much needed pavilion/deck for their tennis teams. John drew up the architectural designs and specifications, and Mikkelson builders, along with their sub-contractors and suppliers built the structures. Mikkelson was the lead donor on the project, but the parents, school community, and tennis team also raised funds and contributed generously to the community project.
Best of all, NO school funds were used to build the project!
